2017 Mustang Wrestling Camp – Resident and Commuter Camp (Open to any and all wrestlers)

The city of San Luis Obispo, located on the beautiful central coast of California is known for its great restaurants, beautiful beaches, shopping, wine tasting, and among the most impressive scenic views in the state. Also known by many in the wrestling circles is the wrestling program at Cal Poly, San Louis Obispo. Since the 1960s, Cal Poly, SLO has had a long and rich tradition of producing some of our nation’s top level wrestling teams and individuals, many who has gone on to win individual NCAA titles as well as All-American honors. Instrumental in the continuation of this tradition is the Mustang Wrestling Camp held annually. This year marks the 5th Mustang Wrestling Camp and for the first time, wrestlers and coaches have the option to stay on-site in the Cal Poly dorms. According to the Cal Poly staff, there are many benefits to attending this great clinic:

  • This is a great opportunity for the  wrestler in your family to spend time learning the sport of wrestling while parents can spend time at the beach, shopping, wine tasting or enjoying any of the area’s outstanding restaurants and other attractions
  • If you are a central coast wrestler, this is a chance to attend an outstanding wrestling camp without paying the additional costs for travel and lodging.
  • The Mustang Wrestling Camp will provide the most WELL-ROUNDED wrestling camp experience anywhere. Each camper can expect to learn a wide range of diverse techniques from the Cal Poly Wrestling and many of the Cal Poly wrestlers
  • The Cal Poly staff are committed to giving each wrestler the attention they need to make their time with us effective
  • The clinicians will cover every position (neutral, top, and bottom) as well as a session dedicated towards Freestyle & Greco Roman
  • Will conduct live wrestling sessions, creative cardio workouts, and coaches discussions on various topics of training, strategy and motivation
  • Our goal is to help each camper acquire the tools they need to become successful in every aspect of their wrestling and have a great time while doing it!
