Via Flo Radio, Flo Wrestling announced a partial lineup of the always tough Who’s # 1 event. For the first time since the event’s beginnings in 2013, California will be represented by three grapplers in Jaden Abas (Rancho Bernardo), and the Selma High dual of Richard Figueroa and Jace Luchau.
Competing at 138-pounds will be Abas. Abas will be in a four-person group with # 1 JoJo Aragona (New Jersey), # 2 Keegan O’Toole (Wisconsin) and # 4 Gabe Tagg of Ohio. Abas will take on O’Toole, a 2018 USMC Fargo Junior Freestyle titlist and two-time state champion with a career record of 83-5.
The winner of the match between Abas and O’Toole will take on the winner of the Aragona and Tagg match at the end of the night to decide the clear No. 1 wrestler at 138-pounds.
Luchau, who recently became a double All-American in the Junior Division, will take on Andrew Alirez of Colorado. Alirez is a multiple time Fargo All-American that has won the Colorado state tournament in three occasions.
Aside from being a beast on the mats of Colorado, Alirez was triumphant in January as he claimed a coveted Doc Buchanan title at 145-pounds.
Figueroa will also be competing in the event at 106-pounds. An opponent to face Figueroa will be named later.
