Out of the 57 grapplers that traveled to compete at the USMC/USAW Cadet Freestyle tournament, only seven will return with All-American status. Incoming freshman, Ryan Franco of Clovis North(126), was the lone athlete from the golden state to advance to the finals. Franco will take on a familiar foe in Josh Saunders (Missouri) in the finals. Saunders was considered by many wrestling publications in the country as one of the top freshmen this past season.

Richard Figueroa II (100), Jace Luchau (145), of Selma and Victor Jaquez Jr of Bellarmine Prep (220) will wrestle in the third-place bout, while Luka Wick of San Marino (138), Nathan Paulson of Brentwood-Liberty (145), and Trent Munoz of Trabuco Hills (145), for seventh place. As a team, the golden state finished in sixth place with 25 points. The top three teams in the tournament were Illinois (75 pts), Ohio (46 pts), and Pennsylvania with 42.

Christian Cabuag (106), Kyle Parco of San Ramon Valley (132), Marcos Jimenez of Mitty (160), Erich Osteen of Chaminade Prep (220), and Justin Ramos of Folsom (285), where a shy away from placing in the tournament.
