Bellarmine Prep’s Jaquez Jr. Commits to Cal Poly, SLO

TCW Bear LogoOne of the top upper-weight wrestlers in the golden state, Victor Jaquez Jr., announced via Twitter on Saturday evening his intentions to compete for Coach John Sioredas at Cal Poly.

About to enter his senior season for the Bell’s, Jaquez was triumphant during the postseason in capturing his second Central Coast Section Championship and placed third at the always rugged California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) state tournament.

Rated as the top wrestler at 220-pounds during the 2017-18 season, Jaquez entered the postseason undefeated with six tournament titles, including winning Battle for the Belt at Temecula Valley and the always tough Mid-Cals tournament.

Wrestling has become a passion for Jaquez, and he has proven time after time why he is also considered one of the top guys in the nation as he is ranked # 10 in the country by Flo Wrestling.

He is an NHSCA All-American and has placed twice at the USMC Fargo Nationals. He is projected to either compete at 197 or HWT for the Mustangs.
