Betancourt to continue his collegiate career at St. Cloud State University (Minnesota)

Former Clovis High alumni and 2018 CCCAA state champion for Fresno City Brandon Betancourt, will pursue his collegiate career for 2018 NCAA Division II champions, St. Cloud State. As a Ram, Betancourt finished the 2017-18 season undefeated, while claiming a Northern regional and state championship at 125-pounds, to help the Rams win the coveted CCCAA team state championship.

Betancourt is scheduled to get the nod at 125-pounds after three-time NCAA All-American Brett Velasquez, graduates in 2019. Bettencourt will become the second California grappler on the roster, as former Vacaville High wrestler Jordan Aquino competes for the Huskies.

Last season, the Huskies concluded the 2017-18 season undefeated with a 19-0 record in dual-meets and captured their third NCAA Division II national championship.
