Head Coach Lennie Zalesky and staff want to bring the best talent to Southern California and compete in the future for a Division I National Championship. His latest recruit is Bishop Amat’s, Christian Nunez.
Nunez had a tremendous 2017-18 season that saw him placed seventh in a rugged weight class at the CIF state tournament after placing third at the Southern Section Masters Meet Tournament.
Nunez is a well-known wrestler in California and the nation as he was a Jr. National Folkstyle Champion in 2017 and was a Super place winner in 2015.
Aside from his national accomplishments, Nunez is a three-time southern section medalist and has advanced to the CIF state tournament since his freshman season while competing for St. John Bosco.
Cal Baptist will be a right fit for Nunez as he could take over the 133-pound weight class after redshirting for the Lancers. Nunez is currently ranked No. 5 in California at 126-pounds.
