Santiago High senior Brayden Ray has made his college decision, and his choice is no huge surprise. The superstar wrestler announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he would be joining Cal Baptist University.
The Lancers who are coached by three-time All-American Lennie Zalesky, have finished third the past two seasons at NCAA Division II Nationals. During his career for the Sharks, Ray was a three-time state qualifier, a Southern Section Masters Meet Champion, and placed fourth at the tough CIF state tournament.
During the 2018-17 season, Ray placed at the always competitive Walsh Jesuit Ironman (8th) and at Temecula Valley’s Battle for the Belt tournament (2nd) in Southern California. He is scheduled to compete at 197-pounds for the Lancers.
