California women receive draws for Grand Prix of Spain

All four California athletes received their draws to compete at the Grand Prix of Spain at the Pabellón Exterior del CSD in Madrid, Spain, on Sunday the 16th.

Anthony Victoria 48 kg), who is a first time World team member, was a four-time WCWA Women’s College Nationals champion from 2010-14. She will take on Ambar Wiebe (Canada), who placed fifth at the 2017 Canada Cup.

2016 US Senior Nationals bronze medalist Dominique Parrish (55 kg), will begin the competition against Mathilde Riviere (France). Riviere has claimed titles at the Grand Prix of Germany and Cerro Pelado tournaments.

Two-time WCWA Champion Mallory Velte (63 kg), will also take on a wrestler from France. Her opponent, Laetitia Blot, won the bronze medal at the 2016 Henri Deglane Challenge in November.

Our last competitor, Forrest Molinari (69 kg), will take on our neighbor from the north in Kayla Brodner. Brodner has placed fourth and fifth the Canada Cup.

Madrid, Spain, is located nine hours ahead of U.S. Pacific Time, meaning those wishing to watch live can tune in at 12 a.m. (PT). A live stream of the event, as well as brackets, can be found at
