California wrestler Marty Kistler won consecutive NCAA Division I titles for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 1985 and 1986 and was named Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAAs in 1986. During his tenure at Iowa, the Hawkeyes won four national team tiles. In addition, he was an All-American and Big Ten Champion from 1984-’86, reaching the NCAA finals three times. During his prep days at Notre Dame High School in Southern Section, Marty became the first California wrestler to reach the CIF State Championship finals four times, earning two state titles in the process. Marty is also a 2006 inductee in the California Wrestler Hall-of-Fame.
