The coaching staff at Fresno State is adding another arsenal to their upper weights with the addition of Isaiah Perez of Pitman. Perez proved how much he has improved over the summer when wrestling up three weight classes at 220, dominated the California World Challenge at Clovis West.

He kept the momentum going by placing fourth at the always tough Super 32 tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. On his way to the podium, Perez defeated various opponents with long resumes in scholastic wrestling.

A three-year starter for the Pride. Perez has advanced all through his scholastic career to the CIF state tournament. This past year, he was a Sac-Joaquin section champion and placed fourth at 170-pounds. Perez is a relentless grappler that should become a great asset for the coaching staff. He is projected to compete at 197 for the Bulldogs.
