Sheridan, Dombrovskiy, Katerina and Anastasia Lobsinger to compete at CISM Military World Championships in Lithuania


California natives Lucas Sheridan (U.S. Marine Corps/De La Salle HS), Vladyslav Dombrovskiy (U.S. Army/Natomas HS), Katerina Lobsinger (U.S. Army/Northgate HS) and Anastasia Lobsinger (U.S. Army/Alhambra HS) are scheduled to represent their respective military branches at the 2017 CISM Military World Championships in Lithuania, Sept. 20-23.
The initial qualifying event for the team was the 2017-Armed Forces Wrestling Championships, held at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. in February 2017.
In Greco-Roman, SGT Lucas Sheridan at 85 kg/187 lbs., placed fourth at the World Team Trials and he is a former two-time NCAA Division I qualifier for Indiana University.
SGT Vladyslav Dombrovskiy 86 kg/189 lbs., was a standout wrestler for Sierra College where he was a CCCAA state runner-up in 2009. Dombrovskiy was triumphant in claiming a 2017-Armed Forces freestyle championship.
Siblings, PV2 Katerina Lobsinger at 69 kg/152 lbs., and PV2 Anastasia Lobsinger at 75 kg/165 lbs. will be competing in this event for the first time together. Anastasia was a 2012 Cadet World bronze medalist, while sister Katerina was fifth at the 2014 Cadet World Championships.
