Simpson University in Redding, CA is looking for student/athletes to join wrestling program.

 

Simpson University in Redding, California is looking for student/athletes to be a part of an up-and-coming and fairly new collegiate wrestling program. Since the first inaugural season in 2012, the Red Hawks have been very competitive in the NAIA division. To date, the Red Hawks have produced several NAIA All-Americans with Austin Lobsinger being the most recent, earning his third honor in 2017. Academically, Simpson University offers scholarships to those wrestlers that are looking for a great education and a chance to compete at the collegiate level.

Head Coach: Rod Forseth

Forseth brings a wealth of coaching experience to Simpson’s wrestling team. He was the head wrestling coach at Enterprise High School from 1985-1999 and 2005-2008. In addition, he is also the director of the Nor-Cal Invitational Wrestling Tournament and the NSCIF Masters Tournament. Coach Forseth attended Sunset High School in Hayward, CA, where he wrestled at the varsity level for three years. He was drafted in 1971 and served as an apprenticeship machinist after military service. He moved to Redding in 1978 and opened his own business Rod’s Radiator Shop. He and his wife, Evelyn, have three children and seven grandchildren. Call, text or e-mail Coach Rod ASAP the summer will be here before you know it.
