The 2016-’17 season marks the 42nd year of the California Wrestler Newsletter (aka, TCW). The origin of the TCW began as the Northern California Wrestler, focusing primarily with the NCS, CCS, Sac-Joaquin, Northern, Oakland and San Francisco City Sections. The Northern California Wrestler’s first welcome letter was distributed to coaches, wrestlers, families, and fans via regular mail during the fall of 1975 and expanded throughout the entire state as the TCW several years later. The TCW first entered the World Wide Web (Internet) during the early part of the new millennium and has become one of the top state sights in the country. The TCW staff is made up of former wrestlers, coaches, volunteers, and people that value good ethics, integrity, passion for the sport, and most importantly, respect to all that have participated in or have been an integral part of the greatest sport on Earth, amateur wrestling.
In the spirit of promoting our great sport, it is our goal to reach out to the masses in California and abroad and to continue to improve upon our already successful site that has on average received millions of hits per month, a stat that is among the top one percent for all wrestling sites in the country.
From the beginning of the regular season through the post season, the TCW is the place to visit. We appreciate your continued input in making our newsletter a great success. The TCW staff thanks the California wrestling family for its support and looks forward to the many years ahead promoting the best state in the union.
