The California Wrestler: OT3 Tri-Titans Weekend Recap

GIGI BRAGG (Pinnacle)

Gigi Bragg (Pinnacle)
After coming off a Folkstyle weekend, Gigi wrestled at the last Minnesota-USA qualifier before the state Greco/Freestyle tournament this upcoming weekend. She lost her Greco matches but came back and beat the same boys in Freestyle to win her bracket.

Devin Holman (El Capitan)
Holman had a great weekend competing at the Sac-Joaquin Wrestling Association tournament (SJWA) as he won the Greco-Roman and Freestyle events competing at 134-142-pounds. He wound up with 8-0 record; however, his brightest accomplishment of the weekend was defeating CIF state runner-up Henry Porter (Oakdale) in both styles.

Tristan Lujan (Selma)
Lujan competed at the Central Valley Wrestling Association (CVWA) Junior Dual qualifier event with high hopes of representing the association at the 2018 Association Duals, from May 18-20 at Fresno Convention Center. He made quick work of both opponents he faced as he earned two tech-falls (14-2 and 12-1) to earn his spot on the team rightfully.

Cristelle Rodriguez (Red Wave Wrestling)
Christelle is considered by many of her peers is one of the top middle school female wrestlers not just in the golden state, but in the country as well. This past weekend, she participated at the Central Valley Wrestling Association (CVWA) Schoolboy Dual Qualifier at 102-pounds. With no regrets or fear, Rodriguez defeated opponents from Selma (11-4) and Champion Academy (6-0) to claim for herself a spot on the Schoolboy squad.

Zeth Romney (LA Wrestling Club)
Representing the LA Wrestling Club, Zeth was triumphant in winning the Freestyle tournament at San Fernando High. With his extensive wrestling skills and quick feet, Zeth was able to conquer the rest of the competition. Zeth is a highly touted wrestler that will begin his scholastic career at Chaminade Prep this upcoming fall.
