Vacaville’s Levengood grabs win at Dream Team Classic

Brownsburg, Ind. – Jake Levengood, who was the state runner-up during the 2017-18 season, won his match at the prestigious 2018 Dream Team Classic at Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana, on Saturday.

Levengood, who is signed to play football for Oregon State this upcoming fall, outwrestled Indiana state runner-up, Brandon Streck of Merrillville High (4-0), to help Team USA defeat Team Indiana, 31-16.

Streck was the No. 2 ranked wrestler at 220-pounds by IndianaMat.com and finished the 2017-18 season with a 33-2 record with both losses coming to the No. 1 wrestler in the nation at 220-pounds Mason Parris of Lawrenceburg High. Streck will continue his wrestling career this fall at the University of Indiana.

The All-Star dual-meet featured some of the top grapplers from across the country against the best the Hoosier state could assemble. The dual meet began at 160-pounds, with team USA winning nine of the 13 contested matches.
