RYAN RIOS is still getting used to the spotlight. He is not just a wrestler; he has become a celebrity in the wrestling community. Whichever tournaments he attends, he is well known and liked by his fellow peers. It makes sense since he has dominated all competition he has faced since his initial season in wrestling. However, the fifth-grade class president understands that his success has come thanks to the graced of God and the support from his current coaches Gilly Quintero, T.J. Dawson, Ryan Warr, Shane and Dane Valdez.

“It is a blast to watch Ryan on the mats. He is such a slick and aggressive competitor,” said Eljay Pena, a photographer for Tri-Titans.

A member of the California Gold National Team, Rios has won all major USAW and SCWAY tournaments he has competed. His latest achievement was winning the Freak Show tournament 10&Under Division at 73-pounds; A tournament Rios failed to become a medalist last year. Rios finished with a 5-0 record at the tournament, as he won all matches via bonus points. His closest match of the event came in the semifinals as he defeated his opponent from Minnesota, 12-1. Due to his excellent wrestling, Rios was awarded the most outstanding wrestler award at the Freak Show.

Rios is also a phenom on the classroom as he has a 4.0 GPA. He knows that it is essential to have good grades in order to be able to compete. Because he knows that if he doesn’t have good grades, he won’t be allowed to compete in the sport he loves so much, wrestling. Rios is one of the top grapplers in California and across the country. He hopes to maintain this level of success throughout middle school, and once he enters high school in a few years. Rios is a wrestler all wrestling fans should keep an eye on, as he could become one of the biggest stars in the future.

Ryan competes for the Pounders Wrestling Club, Titan Mercury Wrestling Club, and he is also part of the O3T Club at Tri-Titans.
